Sarah Marguerite Loftus is 11 years old (she'll be 12 this June) and is a sixth-grader at Trickum Middle School in Lilburn, Georgia. She loves animals and plans to major in zoology and become either a vet, an animal welfare lawyer, an endangered animal activist, or a scientist who studies animal scat (droppings)—really!

She also enjoys art in all its forms (painting, drawing, sketching, and making ‘found’ art from recycled materials) and music by ‘60s artists such as the Beatles, Kinks, and Rolling Stones. Her dream is to meet the two surviving Beatles, Paul McCartney or Ringo Starr, and to visit Liverpool.

She has played piano for several years and takes lessons with Robin Whitworth at Smokerise Academy of Arts, and plays flute in the Trickum Middle School band.

Sarah has an older brother, Adam, who attends Parkview High School, and is the daughter of Mary and Jim Loftus. She is the proud owner of four cats—Little Black Kitty, Little White Kitty, Fatcat, and Cleo—two dogs, Rondue and Hannah—and a hamster named Ruby Tuesday.

Sarah and Hannah (a border collie/ springer spaniel mix) volunteer with Gwinnett Humane Society's Pat-a-Pet program and visit Golden Living assisted living facility in Lawrenceville, Georgia, the first Saturday of every month.

Her love of animals resulted in this darling drawing which we are proud to display as our selected logo for PAWfest 2008! Thank you, Sarah!!
