Each Spring, Gwinnett Humane Society celebrates with a day of fun in the park. PAWfest 2008 is our 15th annual festival and we are so excited! Imagine a day filled with exciting demonstrations, contests, incredible prizes, music, and mouth watering goodies - including some of the best fresh-squeezed lemonade in town!
This fun filled festival is held at Rhodes Jordan Park in Lawrenceville on Saturday, May 10. Residents of Gwinnett and surrounding counties gather at the park to shop, eat, watch demonstrations, and show their support for Gwinnett Humane Society and their love for their companion animals. PAWfest is a great way to spend the day with your four legged friend, a great place to find awesome gifts for your pet or pet-loving friends (and other non-pet goodies, too), a great educational experience, and a great place to meet new friends!
This year will include lots of excitement – Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog Testing; a Rabies & Microchip clinic; one of our most popular vendors - Animal Communicator, Judi Byers; dozens of other vendors, animal rescues, and non-profit groups; our famous Silent Auction; Kids activities including games, crafts, and face painting; plus our ever popular Dog Contests and PAW Parade!
This year will also include special guests Stan Wilson of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department performing his song “Neuter That Boy” as well as the Button Theatre Group performing a scene and song from their production, “Barefoot In The Park”. As always, the day will be filled with exciting demos – Frisbee, Musical Freestyle Training, Trick Training, Obedience, Flyball, Agility, and Red Cross Pet First Aid and CPR. Be sure to pick up a GHS Passport and raffle tickets at the registration booth when you arrive at the park – they both could lead to some great prizes!
