A HEARTFELT GOODBYE.... We recently received news that Judi Byers, Animal Communicator - one of our most popular vendors at PAWfest each spring - passed away while on a family retreat in the glory of the North Carolina mountains. Judi has been a constant draw each year and, over the years, has become a very treasured friend of both visitors and volunteers alike. While we mourn the loss of such a wonderful lady, a true friend of animals and animal lovers alike, and a gifted soul, we ask you to join us in sending our thanks that she was able to spend her last days in the loving company of her family. We are comforted to know she is in the presence of her family and so many beloved animal souls who ventured ahead of her and we send our sincerest, heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. Judi's family has asked that donations be made in her memory to two organizations - Canine Shelter Rescue (a rescue organization operating in her local North Augusta, NC area) and Gwinnett Humane Society. We are honored to be included. To read the beautiful notes from Judi's
family, visit Animal
Echoes.
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we, Gwinnett Humane Society -- our Board of Directors, volunteers, foster homes, members, friends, and supporters -- send our heartfelt condolences to each of you. Judi was an incredible inspiration to us and we will never be able to thank her for her work, her heart, and her spirit that brought so many of us closer to the animals we love so dearly. Judi was, and will always be, a treasured friend of Gwinnett Humane Society. We are comforted to know she was with her beloved family and we wish you all prayers and support to help you find the strength for the days ahead...along with the knowledge that Judi truly made an important difference to so many. Our sincerest condolences... Dehra L. Boozer |

Brittany was deeply loved by
her family and friends. Her zest for life and spontaneity inspired everyone
that knew her. She was filled with an incredible energy that left us all
in awe. She was extraordinary, caring and compassionate. She meant the
world to us and will be in our hearts forever. Life isn't about how to
survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain--Brittany knew how to
dance! Shawn Lanier |

Sadly, we say goodbye to a very special friend, Jerry Swan, husband of long-time friend and volunteer, Becky Andrews. We thank you for your kindsness to others, your unending compassion, and your support of Becky and her dedication to helping animals in need. May you forever hold a front row seat on the 50-yard line for all the Georgia Bulldog games and could you see that they win the SEC title? Your GHS family wishes you a peaceful journey and we know you will have a special place at The Bridge to welcome our furry friends home. |

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to one of our own. Mike Swanson, who, along with partner Frank Leeds, adopted from GHS and found themselves drawn back to volunteer and have become an important part of our GHS family. Mike, an animal lover with a generous and gentle heart, will be truly missed by all. |
